About Brynne Woods
You're curious, aren't you? You want to know more about the woman who sells her husband's nipple hairs in vials. I'm delighted you're here, so let's dive in─
I'm a nearly feral 38 year old AuDHD cottage witch with a love for things spooky, tiny, vintage and strange. I lived most of my childhood in DFW and spent my 20's in rural East Texas, a place I dearly miss to this day. Currently, my husband Joe and I live in a gorgeous late 1960's house, in an old, tree-lined neighborhood in Denton- the Halloween capital of Texas. Each day we dote on our two precious little fur children- a 14 year old senior pug named Pippa and our cattle dog mix named Bane. We also keep a few tarantulas and feed lots of wildlife around our property. If you're a stray cat, opossum or a raccoon family, the Woods house is where you want to be at 10pm.
Our lives are pretty quiet and slow paced. While Joe does work a corporate job schedule, I float around my days like a raccoon with wings checking things off my list as I go. Since the world is VERY overstimulating out there, I rarely leave the house unless it's thrifting or date night. We enjoy our time spent at home and since I'm a fantastic cook, we rarely get food other than a grocery store. Cookies, cakes and other treats are common in this house. In fact, Joe snacks on them right out of the glass dome in the hallway. And we absolutely share with the dogs.
While I'm not hunting down curious things for this shop, I'm spending my time baking, reading, refinishing furniture, doing puzzles, painting, maybe even scrolling marketplace for deals. I like to keep myself entertained with lots of hobbies and things to get my squirrel hands into.
About Bone & Bloom Market
I started this shop in 2016! It's wild to think this shop is nearing 10 years old. This shop began on Etsy and over that time earned over 27k sales and more than 8k five star reviews. I've sold everything from tiny mummified mice, to beach sand from Japan, to squirrel poop, to tarantula fangs and everything in between. As it's grown, it has become something that feels like a very dear friend. This shop is my life. I've poured my soul into this project and my hope is that it exists as a strange little wonderland for people who seek connection to natural history, to fill trinket shelves or to be delighted by a curated collection of weird things.
Since I work from home, I make my own schedule. For me, this doesn't look like planning out what to do with my time. I'm a whimsical creature, remember? I could be doing anything at any hour. When I'm working on the shop, I'm spending my time packing orders, labeling vials, shopping for new inventory, packaging free gifts, organizing the studio, gluing specimens, cleaning bones, posting on Instagram and more. Joe will tell you our whole house is my shop (except for his office) and I photograph items all throughout our home and each corner looks exactly like an oddities shop. Just how I like it.
Meet The Pug─ Pippa
MY SWEET CRISPY BABY ANGEL CHICKEN. I have loved and cared for this baby for 14 years now. We are constantly impressed with how young and full of life she is at this age. This little girl is simply the light of my life, the sweetest, most tender, innocent little soul I've ever had the honor of loving. She has never done a thing wrong in her whole life. Everything she does is perfect. Even the screaming she's picked up in the last year. It's like music. I couldn't love her more.
Pippa spends her days following me around, barely needing help getting on and off the bed, annoying her brother and waiting quite patiently for anything edible I have to share. Our lives revolve around making her feel supported and loved. She is magic in our home.
